Popis produktu PSD-RHis an electronic device what was created to control lighting and temperature in poultry houses. The device is able to simulate sunrise and sunset. It is possible to connect dimmable 12V DC LED-lamps as well as dimmable fluorescent tubes with an electronic control gear (ECG with a controller output voltage of 1-10 volts) from JOSTechnik.
The Light Manager (JT-PLM) automatically switches on the lighting in the poultry house at an adjustable time and starts to dim the light within a fixed given time from 0% to 100% (simulation of sunrise). As soon as an adjustable outside light sensor has detected the threshold of daylight, the artificial lighting will be automatically switched off. In case that the daylight has reached the default threshold before the dimmer start time (during summer) the dim process will not be started.
In the evening the light sensor initializes to turn on the artificial light in the hen house with a light level of 100%. In accordance with a predefined time the dim process starts at 100% and turns slowly down to 0% (simulation of sunset). Afterwards the lighting will be shut down completely. For that procedure the light controller will just take action if the outside light sensor indicates that the daylight comes below an adjustable threshold, that means during summertime the dim process will mostly not be started.
The Poultry Light Manager (JT-PLM) includes some more useful capabilities:
1. Automatic heating if the inside temperature undershots an adjustable temperature threshold. The heating will be stopped again if the adjusted upper temperature limit was reached.
As heating units infra-red lamps as well as normal electric heaters can be used. The power supply of these devices is based on 230 V AC. For that reason it is necessary to use the relay connection unit JT-Rel-HL.
2. Automatic ventilation if the inside temperature exceeds an adjustable temperature threshold. The ventilation will be automatically switched off if the adjustable lower temperature limit for ventilation was reached.
As ventilation units 12 V – devices as well as devices on 230 V AC power can be used. For connecting 230 V – devices the additional relay connection unit JT-Rel-HL has to be used.
Connecting terminals of the device
The Light Manger unit (JT-PLM) has following terminal connections:
1. Connection for a separate 12 V DC wall plug transformer, the connection of a 12 V solar power supply is also possible. An integrated polarity protection prevents the device from damage by voltage reversal. The operation of the device with common batteries like AA or AAA a.s.o. is not possible.
2. Connection for an additional external light sensor (an essential sensor to be used inside of the shed if the controller unit is fixed outside of the shed)
3. Connection for an additional external temperature sensor (an essential sensor to be used inside of the shed if the controller unit is fixed outside of the shed). The additional sensor mentioned under point 2. and 3. are not necessary if the controller is mounted inside the shed.
4. Connection for LED lamps
5. Connection for T5 - fluorescent tubes (it means connection for the switching voltage, connection for auxiliary relays)
6. Connection for heater (it means connection for an auxiliary relay)
7. Connection for Ventilator (it means connection for an auxiliary relay)
The Light Manager itself uses just a low voltage of 12 V AC. So it is safe for the costumer to make some connections himself.
The connections of 230 V – devices to the additional relay units like JT-Rel-HS and JT-Rel-LS have only to be made by qualified professionals.
Installation of the device
The controller device (JT-PLM) can be fixed outside of the poultry house (IP 65) as well as inside. The wall plug transformer is just applicable for inside use.
Handling of the device
The operation of the light controller (JT-PLM) is easy done. It is just necessary to adjust the desired parameters. That can be done by using the setup menu. All adjustable values will be shown on the display. It is not necessary to open the device to do these adjustments. The descriptions of the operations are given in the operating manual.
The display shows following adjustable conditions and values (dependent on context):
1. Current time of the day.
Switching time for artificial sunrise
Switching time for “light off” in the evening
2. Temperature outside*
temperature inside*
3. Brightness outside*

In addition to the display a permanent status indication is given by LEDs which are mounted on the motherboard of the controller and are visible through the lid of the transparent casing. Following conditions are indicated by the LEDs:
1. Dimming or lighting ON/OFF
2. Heater ON/OFF
3. Ventilator ON/OFF
The integrated digital clock is battery-backed, includes an automatic switch-over between standard time and daylight saving time and continues to run in fact of a power interruption (only the internal clock, not the time display). The input data are saved in the system and will be restored after a power cut. Then the power is back, the device will reinitialize and will load again the user defined data sets. A new setup is not necessary.
* Device is outside mounted or an additional remote temperature sensor is connected (to order extra).
** External devices will be connected via a separate power module (to order extra). A 230 V-AC power connection is required to operate external devices.

The PHB2 contains a temperature sensor that measures the temperature of the environment and can thus trigger various switching operations:
-When used with an indoor temperature sensor, an electric heat lamp can be switched on (if the stable temperature is too low) or a fan can be switched on for 12V DC for max. 5 hours.
230V accessories require an additional circuit breaker for mains voltage in a separate housing.
-When used with an outdoor temperature sensor, the opening of the damper can be delayed or prevented at low outdoor temperatures.

The PHB2-RH is designed for connection to 12 V DC and has reverse polarity protection. The internal clock is battery-buffered and continues to run even if the supply voltage fails. The set data are stored in the system and are available immediately even after a power failure and subsequent return. The PHB2-RH initializes itself automatically after power supply and remembers the last state before the failure of the supply voltage. This is taken up again when the power supply returns.
The following functions can be set on the integrated menu-driven display:
- PHB2 closes and opens only by timer, not by light sensor
- PHB2 closes and opens by light sensor only, not by time
- PHB2 closes and opens only by light sensor + adjustable closing time delay
- PHB2 closes and opens via timer and light sensor
- PHB2 closes and opens via timer or light sensor
- PHB2 closes and opens manually with pushbutton or radio remote control or in combination with timer and/or light sensor
- Automatic heating of the barn when the temperature falls below a selectable indoor temperature. The heating is switched off when an adjustable upper heating temperature is reached. Both infrared heating lamps and electric radiators can be used as heat sources. These devices are supplied with 230V AC and require the additional connection unit JT-Rel-HL from JOSTechnik.
- Automatic ventilation of the barn if a selectable indoor temperature is exceeded. The ventilation is switched off when an adjustable lower ventilation temperature is reached. Devices with 12V DC operating voltage as well as 230V AC can be used as fans/fans. For 230V devices the additional connection unit JT-Rel-HL from JOSTechnik is required.

No predators such as martens, raccoons etc. can push up this flap when closed.
When the flap is opened, it is automatically unlocked again.

- Connection for external pushbuttons available ( for manual OPEN and CLOSE ) If you install the HK2-RH indoors, you will need an outdoor light sensor. Can be ordered in the online shop of JOSTechnik!
- The flap is locked when closed and automatically unlocked again when opened. No predator like marten or raccoon can lift or open this flap when closed. The following functions can be set on the integrated display:
- Opening time for morning. The flap opens when it is light and the set opening time has been reached. Both conditions must apply.
- Closing time delay for evening. The flap is closed when it becomes dark and when the set closing time delay (in minutes) has been reached or expired. Both conditions must apply.
With the optional (additional) FB radio remote control you can operate the HK2 manually and/or switch the lighting on and off with the FB-4T radio remote control.

Non-dimmable 230 V lighting as so-called local light, heating or fan can be connected and switched using connection modules. The opening of the flap can be prevented or delayed at low outside temperatures, a temperature sensor is available in the device or can be connected externally.
The main function of the lighting control is to provide the optimum amount of light depending on the current duration of daylight. The lighting control automatically switches on the stable lighting at a time that you can set and dims the light from 0% to 100% (sunrise) within a specified time. The barn lighting is automatically switched off when the associated light sensor detects a preset outdoor brightness. If the outdoor light brightness has already been reached before the start of dimming (summer), the dimming process is not started.
In the evening, the stall lighting is automatically switched on (100%) by the associated light sensor. The dimming process starts from 100% to 0% (sunset) depending on a time that you can set. The lighting is then switched off completely at the set time. Here, too, the lighting control only becomes active if the outside brightness falls below a preset level, i.e. in summer the dimming process is not carried out for most of the time.
Various light sources are possible as lighting sources for the stable. Dimmable LED lamps with 12V DC operating voltage from JOSTechnik can be connected directly to the lighting control system. Alternatively, the use of dimmable fluorescent lamps with electronic ballast EVG (so-called T5 tubes) is possible. This, however, requires an additional JT-Rel-Ls connection unit, which enables 230V AC devices to be used for lighting control. It is not possible to use normal incandescent lamps!
The status of the damper gate valve is displayed:

- red/green LED visible from a distance
- via smartphone with Android system when using the GSM module (GSM module cannot be retrofitted, but can only be installed when ordering a new GSM module)
In the PHB2AE-RH, there is a temperature sensor in the control unit that measures the temperature of the environment and can thus trigger various switching processes: Depending on the installation location, an additional external temperature sensor is required, e.g. to switch an electric heat lamp (if the stable temperature is too low) or a fan / ventilator for 12V DC for max. 5 hrs. For 230V accessories, an additional circuit breaker for mains voltage is required in a separate housing. To delay or prevent the opening of the flap at low outdoor temperatures, the outdoor temperature must be measured.

- HK2AE opens or closes with the clock timer and light sensor
- HK2AE opens or closes with the clock timer or light sensor
With the optionally available FB radio remote control, you can manually control the HK2AE.
Mounting:
Connection to plug-in power supply 230V / 12 V DC. The drive unit of the HK2AE should be mounted so that the internal cord is pulled straight out of the drive unit. Avoid diagonal pull! Control unit can be mounted anywhere. When open, the slider or the flap must be fastened by means of a connecting cord (not included in the scope of delivery) to the fastening point (aluminium nut), which is located on the underside of the housing of the drive unit when delivered. Automatic HK-BAT chicken coop door opener with plug-in power supply and door/sliding gate! The HK-BAT automatic chicken coop door opener from JOSTechnik, which can also be called an automatic actuator or electronic gatekeeper, automatically opens and closes chicken or poultry coop doors or vertical sliding gates via a pull cord according to light or time.
The sensitivity of the light sensor can be set to different levels for light and darkness.
The batteries last about 8 months, depending on the quality and manufacturer. The battery icon in the standard indicator of the display flashes when the charge of the batteries is below 25%. The use of rechargeable batteries is not recommended.
The HK-BAT opens and closes automatic flaps at the poultry and chicken coop, aviary or small animal enclosure by dusk or time or in combination of both.
Real emergency stop or emergency opening function:
If an animal is under the door when it closes, the motor will automatically stop upon contact and the door will open again immediately. The closing operation is then automatically repeated. Unlike with other manufacturers’ products, no animal has to free itself from the weight of the door!
This function can be deactivated in the settings.
The HK-BAT won’t open during a storm (in the case of lightning). 230V /12V DC plug-in power supply (certified for indoor use!).

The cable between the fastening nut and the motor rewind must be guided vertically out of the enclosure to the flap or a pulley. Diagonal pull must be avoided.
The connecting cable between the flap actuator and the flap is not included in the scope of delivery, except for the frame unit.

self-locking:
The flap is equipped with a self-locking mechanism. The JOS Technik chicken door locks itself when closed. An animal such as a fox, marten, etc. cannot push up this flap! If the flap is attached on the inside, it cannot be pushed up by people from the outside, making it more secure against theft! The self-locking works with all flap actuators from JOS Technik. The motor requires a certain follow-up time for the bolt to close completely. This run-on time can be set in the settings.
